June 10 Muni Service Changes Adds Service on Connector Routes By Clive Tsuma The 38R Geary Rapid will run every 6 minutes starting June 10 Starting Saturday, June 10, the SFMTA will be adding Muni service on several lines to address crowding, wait times and to support increased summer tourism. We’re also making some stop changes to serve more customers and make the service more accessible and reliable.  Increased Service  To address crowding and reduce pass-ups, we’re adding service on the 1 California between Clay and Drumm streets and California Street and Presidio Avenue – where demand is highest – on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  We’re also going to be starting service earlier on the 1X California Express, at 7:30 a.m. instead of 8 a.m., in response to customer feedback, as well as adding stops at Cherry, Spruce and Laurel streets and Presidio Avenue.   We’re also extending the evening service to the Presidio at 30 Stockton seven days a week. MTA Board of Directors Welcomes Stephanie Cajina

Stephanie Cajina, SFMTA's newest Board of Director

Stephanie Cajina, an advocate for equitable communities and a San Francisco native, joins the SFMTA's Board of Directors as the only Latina member. With her confirmation from the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and subsequent swearing in, she fills the seventh position on the board vacated by former board member Cheryl Brinkman. 

Cajina currently serves as a Senior Economic Development Specialist for the City of Napa, a position she's held since 2019. There she shapes and implements economic development strategies and manages the Economic Development Division budget. Additionally, Cajina is the co-project lead for the City of Napa's National League of Cities Initiative together with the City of Napa's Housing and Planning Division. 

Before that, she served as Executive Director for the nonprofit Excelsior Action Group during, which time, she also served as a member of the SFMTA Small Business Working Group representing transit-related interests of small businesses throughout the San Francisco. 

In addition to her work with the City of Napa, Cajina serves as Vice Chair of the Northern Bay Area Chapter of the Chicano Latino Caucus, California Democratic Party, the largest Latinx Democratic party organization in the country. 

Cajina graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban and Regional Studies. Currently she resides in the Excelsior District, San Francisco. 

SFMTA Board of Directors 

The SFMTA is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors who are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. The SFMTA Board of Directors provides policy oversight in accordance with the San Francisco Charter and the Transit-First Policy and serves as members of the San Francisco Parking Authority. The SFMTA Board of Directors generally meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. Meetings are open to everyone and are streamed live through SFGovTV. Additional information such as agendas, resolutions and legislation passed by the Board can be accessed at www.SFMTA.com.

New T Third Connecting Chinatown to Sunnydale Starts Saturday By Christopher Ward New Muni Metro map. This Saturday the T Third starts its long-awaited new route connecting Chinatown-Rose Pak Station from 4th & King in Central Subway, Mondays through Fridays, 6 a.m. to midnight every 10 minutes and Saturdays and Sundays, 8 a.m. to midnight every 12 minutes.   The K Ingleside will now travel between Balboa Park and Embarcadero Station. Customers using Embarcadero & Folsom, Embarcadero & Brannan and 2nd and King platforms should transfer to the N Judah at Powell Station or 4th & King. Watch the new Muni Metro service  map animations . The following bus service changes also start this Saturday: The T Third Bus will now run along 3rd and 4th Streets in SoMa and on Stockton Street north of Market Street to align with the new T Third rail line and will no longer travel on the Embarcadero and Market Street.   The 6 Haight/Parnassus  will now run until 12 a.m. daily
