June 10 Muni Service Changes Adds Service on Connector Routes By Clive Tsuma The 38R Geary Rapid will run every 6 minutes starting June 10 Starting Saturday, June 10, the SFMTA will be adding Muni service on several lines to address crowding, wait times and to support increased summer tourism. We’re also making some stop changes to serve more customers and make the service more accessible and reliable.  Increased Service  To address crowding and reduce pass-ups, we’re adding service on the 1 California between Clay and Drumm streets and California Street and Presidio Avenue – where demand is highest – on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  We’re also going to be starting service earlier on the 1X California Express, at 7:30 a.m. instead of 8 a.m., in response to customer feedback, as well as adding stops at Cherry, Spruce and Laurel streets and Presidio Avenue.   We’re also extending the evening service to the Presidio at 30 Stockton seven days a week. Transit Driver Appreciation Day

We realize there is a lot going on right now regarding the current health emergency, but we also wanted to remind everyone that March 18 is Transit Driver Appreciation Day — a day set aside to recognize and personally thank our dedicated transit professionals who get us where we need to go each day. They are the heart of Muni and a crucial piece of the SFMTA’s response to this public health emergency.

On Wednesday help us honor the 2,600 Muni operators, 3,600 taxi drivers and 160 paratransit drivers who keep this city moving:

  • Post thank you messages, photos or videos to social media with the tag #TDAD (Transit Driver Appreciation Day)
  • From a safe social distance, offer a heartfelt, “Thanks for the ride,” when you enter and/or exit the vehicle
  • Submit a commendation or compliment through Muni Customer Service

While driver appreciation day is a single event, we are also grateful for the other 364 days that they keep this beautiful city moving. The service they provide does not go unnoticed.

Remember, a simple smile or thank you works any day — there are 365 opportunities each year.

New T Third Connecting Chinatown to Sunnydale Starts Saturday By Christopher Ward New Muni Metro map. This Saturday the T Third starts its long-awaited new route connecting Chinatown-Rose Pak Station from 4th & King in Central Subway, Mondays through Fridays, 6 a.m. to midnight every 10 minutes and Saturdays and Sundays, 8 a.m. to midnight every 12 minutes.   The K Ingleside will now travel between Balboa Park and Embarcadero Station. Customers using Embarcadero & Folsom, Embarcadero & Brannan and 2nd and King platforms should transfer to the N Judah at Powell Station or 4th & King. Watch the new Muni Metro service  map animations . The following bus service changes also start this Saturday: The T Third Bus will now run along 3rd and 4th Streets in SoMa and on Stockton Street north of Market Street to align with the new T Third rail line and will no longer travel on the Embarcadero and Market Street.   The 6 Haight/Parnassus  will now run until 12 a.m. daily
