June 10 Muni Service Changes Adds Service on Connector Routes By Clive Tsuma The 38R Geary Rapid will run every 6 minutes starting June 10 Starting Saturday, June 10, the SFMTA will be adding Muni service on several lines to address crowding, wait times and to support increased summer tourism. We’re also making some stop changes to serve more customers and make the service more accessible and reliable.  Increased Service  To address crowding and reduce pass-ups, we’re adding service on the 1 California between Clay and Drumm streets and California Street and Presidio Avenue – where demand is highest – on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  We’re also going to be starting service earlier on the 1X California Express, at 7:30 a.m. instead of 8 a.m., in response to customer feedback, as well as adding stops at Cherry, Spruce and Laurel streets and Presidio Avenue.   We’re also extending the evening service to the Presidio at 30 Stockton seven days a week. Friday, 4 to 7 p.m.

Usher in the official start of the holiday season in San Francisco this weekend at the annual Embarcadero Center Lighting Ceremony and Carnival. The 33rd annual event returns to the waterfront with an ice skating rink, arts and crafts, a visit by Santa and Mrs. Claus and much more. At 6 p.m., over 17,000 holiday lights will illuminate the buildings of the Embarcadero Center with a little assistance from a lively fireworks show to welcome the holiday season with some flash and style.

How to Get There on Muni: Riders may take any Muni Metro line, the E Embarcadero or F Market and Wharves streetcar lines, any Market Street bus route, as well as the 1 California, 2 Clement, 10 Townsend, or 12 Folsom/Pacific routes to near the Embarcadero Center festivities.

Muni Service Notes: There are no planned service changes for this event.

"Snovember" on Treasure Island

Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For the last TreasureFest of the 2019 season, there will be snow in San Francisco. 10 tons of the white stuff will be brought to Treasure Island as the focal point of this weekend's "snovember" event which will also feature over 400 local vendors of food, drink, arts and crafts and more.

How to Get There on Muni: Riders can take the 25 Treasure Island Route to and from the event.

Muni Service Notes: There are no planned service changes for this event.

New T Third Connecting Chinatown to Sunnydale Starts Saturday By Christopher Ward New Muni Metro map. This Saturday the T Third starts its long-awaited new route connecting Chinatown-Rose Pak Station from 4th & King in Central Subway, Mondays through Fridays, 6 a.m. to midnight every 10 minutes and Saturdays and Sundays, 8 a.m. to midnight every 12 minutes.   The K Ingleside will now travel between Balboa Park and Embarcadero Station. Customers using Embarcadero & Folsom, Embarcadero & Brannan and 2nd and King platforms should transfer to the N Judah at Powell Station or 4th & King. Watch the new Muni Metro service  map animations . The following bus service changes also start this Saturday: The T Third Bus will now run along 3rd and 4th Streets in SoMa and on Stockton Street north of Market Street to align with the new T Third rail line and will no longer travel on the Embarcadero and Market Street.   The 6 Haight/Parnassus  will now run until 12 a.m. daily
