June 10 Muni Service Changes Adds Service on Connector Routes By Clive Tsuma The 38R Geary Rapid will run every 6 minutes starting June 10 Starting Saturday, June 10, the SFMTA will be adding Muni service on several lines to address crowding, wait times and to support increased summer tourism. We’re also making some stop changes to serve more customers and make the service more accessible and reliable.  Increased Service  To address crowding and reduce pass-ups, we’re adding service on the 1 California between Clay and Drumm streets and California Street and Presidio Avenue – where demand is highest – on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  We’re also going to be starting service earlier on the 1X California Express, at 7:30 a.m. instead of 8 a.m., in response to customer feedback, as well as adding stops at Cherry, Spruce and Laurel streets and Presidio Avenue.   We’re also extending the evening service to the Presidio at 30 Stockton seven days a week. The SFMTA Board of Directors provides policy oversight for the safe and efficient transportation of goods and services in San Francisco. This includes the San Francisco Municipal Railway (Muni), automobiles and trucks, taxis, bicycling and walking. The SFMTA Board of Directors also serves as members of the San Francisco Parking Authority.

Our board of directors meetings are usually held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The agenda for Tuesday's meeting includes a presentation regarding Shared Mobility Device Services, Title VI Program Update and purchase approval of battery-electric buses for the Battery-Electric Bus Pilot Program.

Community Meeting/ Public Hearing: California Street Quick Build Project

The SFMTA proposes to reconfigure California Street from four lanes to three from Park Presidio to Arguello boulevards. Instead of two lanes in each direction, there would be one lane in each direction with a center turn lane. In addition to these changes, daylighting of intersections, high-visibility crosswalks, and additional safety improvements will be made to the street from 18th Avenue to Arguello Boulevard.

We’re looking for feedback from neighbors about installing a new traffic signal on Geary Boulevard at Commonwealth/Beaumont avenues.  Drop-in on Thursday, November 7, 4 - 6 p.m. at Earth’s Coffee, 3400 Geary Boulevard to learn more and talk to project staff. There are several ways to share your input:

Pedestrian Safety Advisory Committee (PSAC)

PSAC has been charged with providing expertise on issues concerning pedestrian safety, convenience, ambiance, and planning as well as advocating for pedestrian safety by engaging the public, Board of Supervisors and other relevant agencies. To better engage these entities, PSAC has documented their observations about the current state of pedestrian safety in San Francisco and their recommendations for improvements.

New T Third Connecting Chinatown to Sunnydale Starts Saturday By Christopher Ward New Muni Metro map. This Saturday the T Third starts its long-awaited new route connecting Chinatown-Rose Pak Station from 4th & King in Central Subway, Mondays through Fridays, 6 a.m. to midnight every 10 minutes and Saturdays and Sundays, 8 a.m. to midnight every 12 minutes.   The K Ingleside will now travel between Balboa Park and Embarcadero Station. Customers using Embarcadero & Folsom, Embarcadero & Brannan and 2nd and King platforms should transfer to the N Judah at Powell Station or 4th & King. Watch the new Muni Metro service  map animations . The following bus service changes also start this Saturday: The T Third Bus will now run along 3rd and 4th Streets in SoMa and on Stockton Street north of Market Street to align with the new T Third rail line and will no longer travel on the Embarcadero and Market Street.   The 6 Haight/Parnassus  will now run until 12 a.m. daily
